A Day in the Life:

Your day to day will involve the following tasks and responsibilities:

  • Identify non-compliance with planning legislation and regulations.
  • Apply technical knowledge to make informed decisions on inspections and penalties.
  • Conduct investigations, gather evidence, and enforce regulations promptly.
  • Provide transparent and consistent advice, demonstrating integrity and judgment.
  • Base recommendations on risk assessment and compliance strategies.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including residents and industry professionals.
  • Maintain clear and factual records for legal compliance.
  • Respond to community complaints about non-compliant activities.
  • Foster positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to organizational excellence by sharing process improvements.
  • Uphold professional and ethical standards, prioritize tasks, and seek solutions collaboratively.
  • Undertake additional duties as directed within the scope of skills and training.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Current C Class Drivers Licence
  • Previous relevant experience is necessary
  • Diploma or similar qualification in local government investigations and/or planning is highly regarded
  • Ability to assist with some physical tasks
