The Role
Your primary purpose in this position involves delivering projects within the Building Projects portfolio relating to the construction of and alteration of building infrastructure. However, the role will also be required to undertake projects within the following portfolios on an as needed basis: Civil Projects, Building Projects, Major Projects, Open space.
Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Facilitate and manage projects to ensure delivery of departmental works identified throughout the annual budget process, including managing project delivery, documentation, and handover.
- Ensure safety, quality, and environmental reports are compliant and meet corporate requirements throughout all project phases
- Establish clear project plans, briefs, and scopes, ensuring resources are allocated for timely project completion.
- Prepare project risk management plans and monitor the implementation of project risk strategies and treatments.
- Scope projects appropriately to incorporate all key factors in planning and costing stages, including budget bids and feasibility studies.
- Prepare project budgets, monitor expenditure against targets, and provide regular reporting to maximize funding and finance opportunities.
- Facilitate and liaise with key stakeholders, client users, asset managers, and maintenance staff to establish design and maintenance needs.
- Supervise project staff and contractors to ensure projects are tracking to requirements and resolve issues proactively.
- Develop and maintain strong client contract manager relationships to ensure effective management of OH&S and contract variations.
- Provide quality professional advice to management and council, promoting professionalism and ethical work standards while fostering a customer service culture.
To be considered for this role you should have:
- Relevant Tertiary Qualification in Project Management
- Project Delivery Experience: building works and renewal projects
- Hands on experience on the Design including proficient use of CAD.
- Ideal experience working with design consultants looking to transition into Local Government
- White Card
- Working with Children Check
- Victoria Driver’s License (valid)
- National Police Check (with Stat Dec) issued within the last 6 months
- Ability to commit to rosters with a proven track record of good attendance and punctuality.
