Home Maintenance Officer

  • $ 36.09 per hour casual rates + super
  • Ongoing with a view to full time
  • Roster: Mon – Fri 8:00AM – 4:00PM
  • Training provided
  • Dandenong location

The Role

Your primary purpose in this position is to assist with general gardening duties and a summer watering program.

Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Home Maintenance Service

  • Undertake tasks such as (but not limited to) the following minor home maintenance tasks: installing safety rails, fitting locks, banister rails, step extensions, handles & catches, cleaning spouting and windows, repairing of furniture, replacing light globes and smoke detector batteries, heavy duty cleaning, gardening jobs (safety related)
  • Selection and purchasing of materials as requested by the client
  • Selection and purchasing of equipment needed by the client in accordance with professional specifications
  • Providing written quotes as required
  • Assess and evaluate work tasks for each rostered job

Home and Equipment Safety Checks

  • Conduct safety inspections in client’s homes and test electrical appliances to be used by CGD Care Workers to ensure they meet CGD workplace safety requirements
  • Complete HESC and highlight safety concerns
  • Make home visits for assessment of requests



To be considered for this role you should have:

  • Experience in doing home maintenance tasks
  • Uniform requires (Hi Vis long sleeve shirt, Khaki long work pants, Steel cap boots)
  • Working With Children Check
  • National Police Check (with Stat Dec) issued within the last 6 months
  • White card a bonus but not required
  • Team orientated and ability to travel together
  • Ability to commit to rosters with a proven track record of good attendance and punctuality.
