About the Role: We are seeking a motivated and skilled Road Maintenance Operator to join the City Infrastructure team at Merri-Bek City Council. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing road infrastructure, ensuring the safety and quality of roads, signage, and street furniture within the local area. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Performing routine road maintenance tasks in accordance with road asset management plans and safety guidelines.
• Repairing and installing road signs, street furniture, fences, guardrails, and other infrastructure.
• Operating trucks up to 22400 GVM and other plant machinery, including ride-on rollers and small tools (e.g., concrete saws and vibrating plates).
• Conducting daily checks on vehicles and equipment, ensuring their safe and correct operation.
• Assisting with labouring tasks as required and maintaining roadwork signage.
• Contributing to the implementation of Moreland’s Continuous Improvement and Environmental Sustainability objectives.
• Adhering to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) policies and ensuring a safe working environment for all. To

Be Successful, You Will Have:

• A current Victorian Driver’s Licence with a minimum Medium Rigid Truck Licence endorsement.
• Experience in road maintenance, construction, and the use of related machinery.
• Strong mechanical knowledge and skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Willingness to work under supervision, as well as provide assistance with on-the-job training.
• Knowledge of road maintenance techniques and safety standards.
