Arborist

• $40.00 per Hour
• Location: Bellfield 3081
• Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:30am – 4:00pm
• Casual Ongoing Work with the Local Council

The Opportunity
We are currently looking for a skilled Arborist to join our dedicated team within the Banyule City Council. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to the care and maintenance of street trees, enhancing the urban forest and creating a positive environment for the community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out tree and shrub removal, pruning, and other arboricultural operations according to relevant standards.
• Assist reactive works team with customer request work
• Safely fell trees in various environments using climbing and mechanical systems.
• Conduct pruning and care of trees in accordance with industry regulations.
• Operate and maintain arboricultural tools and equipment.
• Perform tree health maintenance, identify pests and diseases, and recommend necessary actions.
• Plant trees and shrubs where required.

Qualifications & Experience:

• A trade qualification in Arboriculture or a related field (desirable) or a certificate of proficiency in arboriculture.
• Hands-on Arboricultural experience, with proficiency in climbing and tree access (Elevated Work Platform and climbing qualifications required).
