About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and customer-focused Sales & Service Advisor to be the first point of contact for customers at our busy outdoor power equipment dealership. In this dynamic role, you’ll combine retail sales, customer service, service coordination, and technical support to ensure every customer leaves confident in their purchase or repair.

Whether it’s a homeowner buying their first lawnmower or a contractor needing urgent parts or service, you’ll be the go-to expert at the front counter – offering advice, solving problems, and making sure the job gets done right.

Key Responsibilities

🛒 Sales & Customer Service

  • Greet and assist customers in a professional and approachable manner.
  • Recommend suitable products and demonstrate key features and safe operation.
  • Process sales, warranties, and upsell parts, accessories, and consumables.
  • Respond to customer enquiries via phone, email, and in-person.

🔧 Service & Workshop Coordination

  • Book and manage servicing and repairs for outdoor power equipment.
  • Liaise with workshop staff for accurate job scheduling and timeframes.
  • Conduct final quality checks on serviced equipment before returning to customers.
  • Provide clear quotes, gain approvals, and keep customers informed throughout.
  • Process invoices, warranty claims, and service records accurately.

🧩 Parts & Inventory Support

  • Assist with parts identification and ordering for all major brands.
  • Help monitor stock levels and report replenishment needs.
  • Support merchandising and showroom presentation.

🗂️ Administration & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate customer and transaction records.
  • Assist with daily banking and reconciliation.
  • Contribute to team sales and service performance goals.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in retail, customer service, or a mechanical/service-related role.
  • Strong knowledge of outdoor power equipment (mowers, chainsaws, trimmers, etc.).
  • Confidence in explaining technical information in simple terms.
  • High attention to detail – especially when checking completed service work.
  • Strong computer and point-of-sale system skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
