A newly created role for a customer focused sales professional to join this growing company supplying the domestic and export markets.

Our Client

Our client is a large privately owned and operated family business, 100% Australian owned, that has built a reputation on excellent reputation over the last 25 years. During this time, it has established 3 manufacturing facilities across Victoria and Tasmania in the beef processing sector.

With turnover exceeding $500M p.a., they supply both the domestic and export markets with their high quality beef products.

The Role

With its head office in Port Melbourne and reporting to the Group Sales Manager this position will be primarily responsible for maintaining and building existing customer relationships in the domestic market.

The focus will be on maintaining and growing the existing domestic customer base however the scope includes chasing new business opportunities as part of this role. You will be expected to manage the ebb and flow of various products ensuring the needs of the customers are met.

You will also need to build strong internal relationships with various stakeholders to understand the production capabilities and product availability.

You will be an Ambassador for the company, hosting invited customers on site visits to the production facilities and the primary suppliers. Involvement in new product launches and community programs are also part of this role.

This position is well suited to someone who may have experience in the FMCG, fresh produce, food and/or Agri business sectors.

You will be a down to earth, well-rounded person who enjoys dealing with people through multiple channels and possess the ability quickly to build trust and rapport. Your ability to converse across all stakeholder levels will hold you in good stead.

  • Substantial experience in a similar role & industry
  • Polished presentation & communication skills
  • Market Intelligence skills
  • Proven negotiation skills
  • A good level of computer literacy
  • Ability to quickly adapt to fluctuations in the market place
  • Reporting on sales activity and targets
  • Relevant tertiary/business qualifications desired
  • Excellent analytical and forecasting skills
  • Acute attention to detail
