Arborist / Garden Crew Member

  • Up to $ 38.33 per hour casual rate
  • Monday – Friday (6:30am – 3:30pm)
  • Casual role until Feb 2026
  • Maribyrnong, VIC Location

The Role

The primary objectives of this role include but are not limited to:

  • Assist the Tree Crew in the delivery of Arboricultural services within the municipality in accordance with work plans and specified standards.
  • Ensure all work is undertaken in a safe manner and observe Council’s Health and Safety policies and practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Tree Crew with the maintenance and improvement of street and park trees within the municipality.
  • Plant trees and shrubs including the preparation of the site and transporting plants.
  • Complete customer requests allocated through Council’s Customer Request system.
  • Complete Plant Check Sheets (Daily) and Defect Reports in accordance with Fleet Maintenance procedures.
  • Operation of council plant and equipment which includes, but is not limited to, elevated platform plant, trucks, travel towers and associated equipment, manual and mechanical cutting tools, climbing equipment.
  • Assist in the estimation and ordering of plants, trees and shrubs.

Qualifications, Experience and Competencies

  • Relevant work experience
  • Current Australian Driver's license
  • National Criminal History Check
  • Full working rights within Australia
