An opportunity has become available for a technically strong Financial Accountant to join a large, asset-intensive organisation providing essential services to the community.

This role sits within a high-performing finance function and offers exposure to financial control, statutory reporting, audit, and process improvement, making it ideal for an accountant looking to deepen their technical capability while gaining visibility across the broader business.

The Opportunity

You will play a key role in ensuring the integrity of financial reporting and controls, supporting both internal stakeholders and external audit requirements. This is a hands-on role with real ownership and the chance to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across finance systems and processes.

• $60.24p/h + Super
• Monday to Friday (8am – 4:30pm)
• Fortitude Valley Location

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver accurate and timely financial accounting, reconciliations, and journal processing
• Design, document, test, and monitor financial controls across systems and processes
• Support statutory and non-statutory financial reporting requirements
• Assist with external audit planning and delivery
• Contribute to financial insights, analysis, and reporting improvements
• Support financial systems enhancements and process changes
• Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and guidelines

About You

• Degree-qualified in Accounting, Finance, or Business
• CPA or CA qualified (or close to completion)
• 3–6 years’ experience in financial accounting or financial control
• Strong understanding of accounting standards and compliance requirements
• Experience with reconciliations, journals, reporting, and audit support
• Confident communicator with a collaborative, detail-oriented approach
• Comfortable working in a structured, governance-driven environment
