🔥 Welder / Boilermaker Wanted – 4-Day Work Week 🔥

We’re on the lookout for a qualified Welder/Boilermaker to jump into a long-term leave position, with a strong chance of going full-time for the right person. If you love hands-on fabrication, working on heavy gear, and don’t mind stepping up into a leadership role now and then — this one’s for you.

💰 What’s on Offer

• $50 per hour + 12% super
• 4-day work week – Tuesday to Friday
• ⏰ 6:45am – 4:45pm
• Stable council work with varied projects

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Repairs and maintenance on heavy vehicles and equipment
• Fabrication work across multiple council projects
• Reading and working from fabrication drawings
• Supervising apprentices when required
• Occasionally stepping into a Leading Hand role on site jobs
• Providing trade guidance and on-the-job training to apprentices and school-based trainees
• Following all health, safety, and quality procedures

✅ What We’re Looking For:

• Qualified Welder / Boilermaker
• Strong skills in: Fabrication MIG welding Reading fabrication drawings
• Comfortable leading a small team when needed
• Safety-focused with a solid work ethic

🦺 Safety & Performance Expectations- You’ll be expected to:

• Complete work safely and on time
• Identify and prevent hazards
• Follow safe work practices and procedures
• Use correct PPE at all times
• Keep your work area clean and organised
• Attend required training (e.g. Working at Heights, Confined Space)
• Comply with all relevant legislation and council procedures

The Fine Print (But Make It Fun) Before you jump in, here’s what you’ll need in your toolbox:

- 🚗 A current Open Class licence – because getting to work matters

- 🚛 HR or HC licence? Even better (we like overachievers)

-🪪 White Card (30215 QLD General Safety Induction) – mandatory

- 💪 Fit for the job You’ll need to pass a functional capacity evaluation before we make things official (nothing scary, just making sure your body’s up for it)

- 🧰 Bring your own tools Your trusty tools of the trade are required, in line with award requirements
