Calling to carpenters! The Local Government is seeking a Carpenter to join their Facilities Management team in Yeppoon. You’ll carry out maintenance and minor capital building works, helping to keep community assets safe, functional, and looking great. • $45.80 hourly rate + Super
• Monday to Friday (6:30am – 3:00pm)
• Yeppoon Location – Work Close to Home!

A Day in The Life

Your day-to-day will involve the following tasks and responsibilities:

• Reactive and preventative carpentry maintenance
• Construction and repairs on Council buildings and infrastructure
• Interpret and work from plans and drawings
• Project planning, quoting, and materials procurement
• Assist with condition assessments and reporting
• Safely operate hand tools and small plant equipment
• Maintain accurate job records and timesheets
• Work with a multi-disciplined team on cross-trade tasks
• Support continuous improvement initiatives

The Ideal Candidate

• Certificate III in Carpentry
• White Card (Construction Induction)
• Current C-Class Driver Licence
• Working at Heights and First Aid Certificates (or willingness to obtain)
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to read plans and work independently or in a team
• Local Government experience is highly desirable
• Asbestos removal “B” Class licence is an advantage
