Plant Operator / Labourer – Local Government (Parks & Open Spaces)
Calling all Plant Operators and Labourers! A Local Government Council is seeking an experienced Plant Operator / Labourer to join their Parks & Open Spaces team based in Emu Park. You’ll play a key role in maintaining parks, gardens, and public spaces that the community enjoys every day. If you’re safety-focused, hands-on, and enjoy working outdoors as part of a supportive team, this could be the role for you!
- $43.76 + hourly rate + Super
- Monday to Friday (6:00am – 3:00pm) – Full Time Hours
- Emu Park Location – Work Close to Home!

A Day in the Life
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Operating Council plant including tractor/slashers, street sweepers, side arms, and water trucks
- Maintenance of parks, gardens, and open spaces including mowing, spraying, pruning, irrigation, and landscaping
- Undertaking specialised gardening and general labouring tasks
- Pest and disease control within the scope of training and certification
- Assisting with site preparation, clean-up, and horticultural/arboricultural projects
- Conducting visual inspections of park facilities and reporting defects
The Ideal Candidate
You will ideally bring:
- Certificate III in Horticulture and/or relevant experience as a Plant Operator/Labourer
- Current Medium Rigid (MR) Driver Licence
- Construction Industry White Card
- Demonstrated experience operating plant and machinery
- Ability to work outdoors and perform physical work
- First Aid Certificate (desirable)
- Queensland Traffic Controller Licence (desirable)
