Love being on the tools and leading the crew? Know your asphalt, roads, and drains—and take pride in quality work that lasts? We’re looking for a Road Crew Team Leader – Asphalt who can lead from the front and keep our civil assets safe, solid, and looking sharp.

The Perks

• 💵 $34.99 per hour + Super

• Immediate start , full time hours until until August 2026

• 🕠 Monday to Friday | 5:30am – 2:30pm

• 😎 9-Day Fortnight – every second Friday off and paid

• 🌤️ Outdoor, hands-on role (no office walls here)

🛠️ What You’ll Be Doing

• 👷‍♂️ Leading a hands-on road crew delivering asphalt and civil maintenance works.

• 🧠 Planning jobs—allocating people, plant, materials, and equipment to get it done right.

• 👀 Identifying defects in roads and drainage assets and locking in safe, practical fixes.

• 🗂️ Keeping work plans, schedules, and records accurate and up to date.

• ⚙️ Ensuring all plant and equipment are safe, compliant, and ready to roll.

• 🚨 Keeping safety front and centre while setting the standard on site.

• 🤝 Working confidently with supervisors, internal teams, and the public to deliver quality outcomes.

💡 What You’ll Bring

• 🛣️ Strong knowledge of civil construction, especially roads and drainage.

• 💪 Hands-on experience in manual civil works within high-safety environments.

• 👥 Proven experience leading small crews and keeping jobs moving.

• 🗣️ Solid communication skills—on site, in writing, and with the community.

• 🧾 The ability to manage admin tasks and adapt to new tech as it rolls out.

• 🦺 A safety-first mindset and pride in quality workmanship.

🎟️ Tickets & Must-Haves

• 🚛 MR Driver’s Licence (essential).

• 🪪 White Card (Construction Induction—used or obtained within the last 2 years).

• 🎓 Certificate III in Civil Construction or similar (highly desirable and required for progression).

• 🪝 High Risk Work Dogging (DG) Licence or willingness to obtain within 6 months.

• 🚦 Traffic Management Implementation Licence or willingness to obtain within 6 months.

• 👢 Safety boots

• 👕 Hi-vis long-sleeve shirt

• 👖 Long pants

• 👒 Wide-brim hat

• 🧤 Gloves

• 🥽 Safety glasses
