Our client, a local Queensland council, is seeking a skilled Technical Traffic Engineer to provide expert traffic engineering advice, deliver technical assessments, and develop local traffic management solutions. As a Traffic Engineer, you'll contribute to innovative traffic management initiatives that enhance road safety, active transport infrastructure, and community accessibility.
- $58.06 – $61.83 p.h
- Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
- 7 month assignment with possibility of extension
- Logan QLD
In this role you will:
- Provide specialist traffic engineering advice across intersections, traffic signals, parking areas, and bikeway facilities
- Investigate and respond to traffic complaints, developing practical solutions to traffic management issues
- Conduct roadside inspections, traffic surveys, and technical investigations to support design and operational improvements
- Develop local traffic management strategies, minor works instructions, and project briefs in consultation with internal teams, councilors, and stakeholders
- Contribute technical input into the design, assessment, and implementation of programs and infrastructure projects Undertake road safety audits and participate in multidisciplinary project teams for traffic safety
- Collaborate with internal teams, contractors, state agencies, and the community
The ideal candidate will have:
- Demonstrated experience in traffic engineering, transport planning, or civil infrastructure projects related to urban and rural road networks
- Proven capability in the design, assessment, and implementation of traffic management measures
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
- A degree in Civil Engineering, Traffic Engineering, or a related discipline highly desirable but not required
