Project Manager

Our client Queensland State Government is seeking an experienced Principal Project Manager to oversee the coordination and delivery of building projects in Mackay. You’ll have opportunities to further develop your leadership and technical expertise while making a meaningful impact.

• $78.02 per hour + Super
• Full time hours (Mon–Fri)
• 4-month assignment with possibility of extension
• Mackay QLD 4740

This role involves:

• Coordinating and managing building project implementation including design, documentation, contract administration and post-construction activities
• Ensuring quality and suitability of building products
• Coordinating project staff, consultants, contractors and stakeholders
• Providing high-level contract coordination across contract systems
• Managing projects to meet scope, time, cost, cash-flow and quality targets
• Leading negotiations with consultants, authorities, stakeholders and contractors

The ideal candidate will have:

• Demonstrated experience managing building projects across the full project lifecycle
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
• Proven ability to manage contracts, budgets and timelines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to align project outcomes with broader organisational objectives
• A relevant tertiary qualification (e.g., Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, Town Planning, Quantity Surveying) is highly regarded but not essential
