Our local Council client is seeking an Administration Officer to provide administrative and receipting support to ensure accurate financial processing and high-quality customer service. You’ll play a key role supporting a financial operations team with essential functions.

  • $38.05 p.h + Super
  • Full time hours (Mon–Fri)
  • 4-month assignment with possibility of extension
  • Maroochydore, Sunshine Coast 4558

This role involves:

  • Providing administrative support for receipting duties in line with policies and procedures
  • Processing payments through various payment methods with a high level of accuracy
  • Loading and managing Direct Debit applications, amendments, and processing dishonour notifications
  • Performing daily reconciliation and receipting of bank statements
  • Responding to internal and external enquiries in a timely and professional manner via phone and email
  • Supporting process improvements within the financial operations team
  • Assisting with reporting, branch projects and initiatives when required
  • Providing support across revenue collection and accounts receivable functions as needed

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in an administrative or customer-focused role (e.g. within finance or credit management, local government)
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent time management and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and customer service skills across phone, email and written correspondence
  • Ability to analyse and resolve routine tasks accurately and independently
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn financial or property systems
  • Availability to travel and work across council work locations and availability to work outside normal hours to meet seasonal deadlines where required
  • Understanding of relevant legislation, policies and procedures related to financial operations not required but highly regarded
  • Certificate III in Business Administration, Finance, Local Government or a related discipline not required but highly regarded
