Our local Council client is seeking an Animal & Pest Services Attendant to support daily kennel operations, animal care, and facility maintenance. You’ll play a key role supporting the care, handling, and wellbeing of impounded animals while maintaining a clean and safe environment for animals and the community.
• $34 p.h + Super
• 3.5 month assignment with possibility of extension

This role involves:
- Supporting general animal management and operational duties as directed
- Cleaning and disinfecting animal pens, food containers, bedding, and litter boxes
- Feeding, exercising, and grooming impounded animals
- Monitoring animal behaviour and reporting any concerns
- Assisting with animal handling, retrieval, and customer identification processes
- Preparing and administering appropriate diets for animals
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience or knowledge in animal handling, animal husbandry, or kennel operations
- Strong attention to detail and good computer and administrative skills
- Demonstrated customer service and communication skills
- Understanding of animal health, disease prevention, and safe handling practices
- Ability to work in an animal and chemical environment (no relevant allergies/sensitivities)
- Current ‘C’ class driver’s licence
- Availability to work weekends on a roster if required
- Willingness to obtain required vaccinations and comply with council health requirements
