Our client, a local QLD Council, is seeking a Community Land Permits Officer to support the assessment and administration of permits for the use of council-managed land. You’ll play a key role supporting the safe, compliant, and effective use of community spaces across the region.
• $41.95 - $45.19 p.h + Super
• 5-month assignment with possibility of extension
• Full time hours (Mon-Fri)
• Caloundra, Sunshine Coast 4551
This role involves:
- Issuing permits for the use of community land in line with legislation, local laws, policies, and guidelines
- Assessing permit applications, identifying risks, and determining appropriate conditions
- Liaising with internal teams and external stakeholders to achieve positive community outcomes
- Responding to customer enquiries, requests, and complaints relating to parks, reserves, and foreshores
- Researching and analysing data to prepare reports and support projects
- Managing applications, financial transactions, correspondence, and data processes
- Supporting team capability through on-the-job training and collaboration
- Ensuring compliance with legislation, policies, and records management standards
- Upholding WH&S requirements and contributing to a safe working environment
The ideal candidate will have:
- Certificate III in Business Administration, Local Government, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Strong experience applying legislation, policies, and procedures in a business or government setting
- Excellent time management, organisational skills, and attention to detail
- Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to handle sensitive matters with professionalism
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Current “C” Class Driver’s Licence and flexibility to work across multiple locations
- Business administration experience (desirable but not essential)
