Our client, a Queensland water distributor-retailer, is seeking a Contract Specialist to support the efficient management of water infrastructure contracts and supplier relationships. You’ll play a key role supporting contract administration, cost control, and supplier performance management across major projects and operational contracts.

This role involves:
- Setting up and monitoring cost tracking structures at contract, project, and work order levels
- Reviewing monthly payment claims and preparing accruals, supporting program managers with reconciliations
- Providing expert advice on contract management, variations, and governance
- Monitoring supplier KPIs and negotiating disputed claims or variations
- Preparing and issuing authorised services/works, ensuring financial delegations and approvals are adhered to
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and internal client relationship management
- Reporting on supplier performance, contract compliance, and value-add savings
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience managing multiple infrastructure contracts and assessing contractual KPIs
- Commercial acumen and expertise in contract administration, procurement, and cost control
- Strong Excel skills and familiarity with financial and contract management systems
- Proven ability to build relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers, while maintaining professional independence
- Knowledge of Total Cost Estimate/Early Contractor Involvement frameworks or similar contract models
- Tertiary qualifications in administration, financial management, construction, engineering, accounting, quantity surveying, or equivalent experience
