Our client, a local QLD Council, is seeking a Senior Development Engineer to support the delivery of high-quality engineering outcomes across land development projects. You’ll play a key role supporting the assessment and approval of development applications and ensuring compliance with Council standards and statutory requirements.
• $58.06 - $64.45 p.h + Super
• 3 month assignment with possibility of extension
• Full time hours (Mon-Fri)

This role involves:
- Processing and assessing development applications in line with statutory timeframes
- Reviewing engineering reports and drawings (roadworks, stormwater, sewer and water systems)
- Conducting site inspections to ensure construction aligns with approved plans and specifications
- Liaising and negotiating with developers and consultants on engineering matters
- Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to provide expert engineering advice
- Preparing reports, recommendations and correspondence related to development applications
- Calculating quantities and rates for construction-related contributions and credits
- Supporting the development and review of design standards, policies and procedures
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong experience in land development, particularly roads, drainage and geotechnical engineering
- Demonstrated expertise in stormwater design, including detention and bio basins
- Ability to interpret engineering reports, drawings and assess compliance with approvals and standards
- Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills
- Knowledge of Queensland Local Government legislation
- Degree qualification in Civil Engineering or related highly regarded
- Experience with CAD and drainage design software highly regarded
- Current “C” class driver’s licence
