Senior Development Engineer

Our client, a local QLD Council, is seeking a Senior Development Engineer to support the delivery of high-quality engineering outcomes across land development projects. You’ll play a key role supporting the assessment and approval of development applications and ensuring compliance with Council standards and statutory requirements.

• $58.06 - $64.45 p.h + Super
• 3 month assignment with possibility of extension
• Full time hours (Mon-Fri)
• Logan QLD 4114

This role involves:

• Processing and assessing development applications in line with statutory timeframes
• Reviewing engineering reports and drawings (roadworks, stormwater, sewer and water systems)
• Conducting site inspections to ensure construction aligns with approved plans and specifications
• Liaising and negotiating with developers and consultants on engineering matters
• Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to provide expert engineering advice
• Preparing reports, recommendations and correspondence related to development applications
• Calculating quantities and rates for construction-related contributions and credits
• Supporting the development and review of design standards, policies and procedures

The ideal candidate will have:

• Strong experience in land development, particularly roads, drainage and geotechnical engineering
• Demonstrated expertise in stormwater design, including detention and bio basins
• Ability to interpret engineering reports, drawings and assess compliance with approvals and standards
• Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills
• Knowledge of Queensland Local Government legislation
• Degree qualification in Civil Engineering or related highly regarded
• Experience with CAD and drainage design software highly regarded
• Current “C” class driver’s licence
