What's the opportunity?

Join the Capital Maintenance and Asset Accounting Team within Strategic Investments and Enterprise Finance, where you'll play a key role in managing and reporting on major government assets and capital projects.

This is more than just a numbers role—it's an opportunity to influence decisions, provide strategic financial advice, and help ensure Queensland's capital investments are accurately managed and reported.

What you'll be doing:

✅ Preparing and analysing capital project reports, reconciliations, presentations, and briefing papers

✅ Providing insights and recommendations on complex asset and capital management matters

✅ Advising business units on capital work-in-progress, acquisitions, and asset accounting policies

✅ Ensuring capital budgets and revisions are accurately reflected across Treasury reporting systems and internal records

✅ Contributing to the development and improvement of capital accounting policies and procedures

✅ Building strong relationships with senior stakeholders, Queensland Treasury, auditors, and service providers

✅ Strengthening internal controls and supporting best-practice asset accounting processes

✅ Keeping up to date with accounting standards, Treasury requirements, and industry developments

We'd love to hear from professionals who have:

🌟 Strong experience in asset accounting, capital accounting, or financial reporting

🌟 Knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and government financial frameworks

🌟 Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills

🌟 The ability to translate complex financial information into clear business insights

🌟 CPA, CA, or IPA membership (highly regarded but not mandatory)
