Learning & Development Officer (AO4) | Queensland Government

$60.05 per hour + super | Brisbane CBD | Contract until June 2027

Love organising training, supporting people and making sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes?

We're looking for an organised and proactive Learning & Development Officer to join a busy Queensland Government team based in Brisbane CBD.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in learning and development, training coordination or administration who enjoys working with people, managing multiple priorities and helping deliver meaningful professional development programs.

You'll play an important role in coordinating training activities, supporting learning programs and ensuring employees have access to the resources and development opportunities they need.

What's on offer?

  • $60.05 per hour + super

  • Brisbane CBD location – Albert Street

  • Full-time contract opportunity

  • 26 October 2026 to 30 June 2027

  • Opportunity to gain valuable Queensland Government experience

  • Varied role supporting employee learning and development

What you'll be doing

No two days will look quite the same! You'll be responsible for:

  • Coordinating training sessions, including enrolments, room bookings, catering and training materials

  • Managing learner enquiries and assisting employees with training registrations

  • Maintaining and updating the Learning Management System (LMS)

  • Tracking training attendance, completion records and evaluation results

  • Preparing training reports, presentations, guides and other learning resources

  • Researching training providers and coordinating with external suppliers

  • Processing post-training administration, including invoices and training records

  • Supporting the development and improvement of learning and development processes

  • Preparing meeting agendas, minutes and correspondence

  • Working closely with internal teams and regional staff to ensure training programs run smoothly

What we're looking for

We're keen to hear from candidates who have:

  • Previous experience in learning and development, training coordination or a similar administrative role

  • Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail

  • Confidence coordinating multiple activities and managing changing priorities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Outlook, Teams and SharePoint

  • Experience using Learning Management Systems or training databases

  • The ability to work independently while contributing to a supportive team

  • A positive, adaptable attitude and willingness to jump in where needed

Experience with Adobe Acrobat and previous government experience would be highly regarded.

You don't necessarily need to come from a dedicated Learning & Development role. If you've worked in training administration, HR support, education coordination or a similar environment and have strong organisational skills, we'd love to hear from you!

Interested?

If you're someone who enjoys bringing people and processes together, keeping training programs organised and supporting professional development, this could be a great opportunity for you.
