We're recruiting an AO5/1 Workplace Health & Safety Advisor to join a busy government team in Mt Isa, helping drive workplace safety, compliance, and wellbeing across a range of operational projects.

💰 What's on offer?

✅ $69.21 per hour + super
✅ Monday to Friday roster
✅ Contract from 23 November 2026 to 26 February 2027

🎯 What you'll be doing

As the WHS Advisor, you'll play a key role in promoting safe work practices and supporting operational teams by:

🔹 Conducting site WHS&E audits and inspections
🔹 Providing expert WHS advice to operational, supervisory and management staff
🔹 Delivering safety information sessions and educational initiatives
🔹 Assisting with incident investigations and reporting processes
🔹 Supporting rehabilitation and return-to-work programs
🔹 Coordinating emergency planning and response activities
🔹 Developing and reviewing SWMS, risk assessments and WHS management plans
🔹 Preparing WHS reports and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
🔹 Supporting the delivery of health and safety programs across the region

✅ What we're looking for

✔ Clean driver's licence
✔ Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (highly desirable)
✔ Experience in WHS, safety compliance, audits, investigations, and risk management
✔ Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
✔ Ability to work collaboratively across operational teams
